Somebody has helped you along the way… Marimeta Moral Monday #2 July 10, 2017 Cheer on your friends. No matter what you accomplish, somebody along the way helped you. Marimeta girls are constantly cheering on other campers for their accomplishments. These compliments and constant support allow campers’ self esteem and confidence boost as they practice and work on various skills. The love and encouragement we have at Camp Marimeta makes this place even more special and unique as inseparable bonds are created. The girls in Senior Cabin worked tirelessly all session to create costumes, dances, and lipsyncs to MTV songs to perform for the camp. Whether they were cutting and splatter-painting countless shirts, painting and glittering intricate cardboard backdrops, or teasing girls hair in unimaginable ways, every girl was comforted by the assistance of others. Girls in their own groups, other groups, and staff members were always available to guide Senior Cabin to one of the most successful and incredible MTV’s ever. The perfect dances couldn’t have been as outstanding as they were without the collaboration of so many different people. After each MTV was performed, cheering and screaming could be heard all across camp. The girls in Senior Cabin were grateful for each and every person who assisted them in putting on quite a show; just as everyone in camp was appreciative of the hard work and extreme effort put in by Senior Cabin. Whether the game be capture the flag, team competition, or captains duels, Mari and Meta games are never silent or dull. Screaming and cheering can be heard all across camp during any games. Both cheering for your team and showing sportsmanship by cheering for the other, everyone is always supporting each other and showing pride in being a Marimeta girl! Whenever girls are able to spend time in the water, there are always girls holding onto the ski rope trying their best to get up on skis. Whether a camper does not get up, is up for less than three seconds, or goes around the lake, they are always cheered for. A lot of the time, younger campers are assisted with water help from a lifeguard. The water helper constantly cheers for the girl that she is helping to keep up the skier’s self esteem and confidence in their skiing. The water helpers, lifeguards, are always greatly appreciated by the girl they are helping disregarding if they successfully skied. Along with the cheering and compliments given by the water helper, girls from across the lake are also cheering regardless if they can tell who is skiing. When on the waterfront, you can always hear girls screaming to the skiers, “You got this!” “Keep trying!” “You’re amazing!” These screams make the skier feel like all of the attention is on them and that they are loved and of importance to other campers. After girls are finished skiing, people cheer for them as they hop off of the boat and put their skis and lifejackets away. This camp has the best kind of girls; those who cheer for others, those who appreciate how counselors and other campers help them, and those who are constantly there for each other no matter what.
