A Poem by Haley S. June 18, 2013 Four big busses in a row 179 campers ready to go Bags all packed and already sent Counselors on board, who already went Off we go, on the road Four big busses with a precious load A long, long journey with one lunch stop Campers eating candy, drinking soda pop A long windy road takes us to camp Our hands we clap, our feet we stamp Excited campers, can’t wait to start That place by the lake that fills your heart Mixed emotions as we see Campers, counselors, Sandy, and Terry Arrive at camp to meet my new friends I already don’t want this summer to end See our new homes for four more weeks Filling the shelves with my clothes and sneaks Hanging our til dinner time Then in the canteen singing our rhyme Snuggle up in our warm beds Dreams already filling our heads Excited campers can’t wait to start That place by the lake that fills your heart. -Haley S. (with help from counselors Grace and Jo)
