Beautiful Northwoods Weather! July 2, 2011 Dearest Marimeta Families and Friends, What a beautiful last two days. You couldn’t ask for more perfect Northwoods weather. (Nice and warm during the day so that we can enjoy all the great activities and cool and calm at night so that we may gaze up at the bright night sky.) Friday began with regular activities but as the sun grew hotter we finished the afternoon with all camp waterfront. The campers had a blast with the new paddle boards, adventuring out into the lake and really working their core. The Summit saw non-stop action as the many campers where climbing and sliding up and down it. The ski boats were buzzing around with tubers, skiers, and wakeboarders -all of them showing off their amazing skills. After a long day on and in the water we continued with a water theme evening activity, with a Mari-Meta squirt bottle game. With blue and red water flying everywhere the team with the least amount of hits was crowned victorious. The fun was not over yet. The first rattle snake or 2011 took place. With the senior cabin girls leading the entire camp down to the shore of Lake Meta the campers jumped into the sparkling water to cool off before heading to a much needed MTV practice. Needless to say after evening treats, a good nights sleep was had by all. Today we woke to more clear, sunny skies. It was the perfect day for regular activities: Skiing, swimming, sailing, arts & crafts, tennis, archery, climbing wall, cooking. You name it, we did it. After a delicious lunch of chicken patties we claimed lost laundry so that all could be sent out to the cleaners. Thank goodness for the new bathhouse because we had to make sure we all got a warm shower before we headed over to Ojibwa for a mini social. The older girls and boys put on the Broadway play 13, for us. Of course this was our version of it. We all laughed and cheered on our girls. Way to go. We have some stars in the making. We look forward to tomorrow and all the fun we will be having with our cabins as we participate in Sunday activities. So….as the evening shadows fade into the night we bid you all a good night. Campingly Yours, Sandy
