Dearest Marimeta Families and Friends!
We are near completion of another fabulous day at Marimeta. Although the rain fell intermittently, we continued on with the best summer ever! Regular activities were able to be held and everyone went swimming, skiing, surfing, boarding, canoeing and kayaking! The water does seem to get warmer each day as the Summit was used by all! Hello Marimeta Families and Friends,
It’s a gorgeous Sunday evening at Camp Marimeta! We are just getting to bed after a Sunny First Sunday! We really loved having a great sunny day from sun up to sun down! We had a lazy lox and bagel breakfast! A favorite Sunday brunch of a stuffed potato salad bar with lots of cold cuts, salads, chicken wings, cheese melted and in slices, different kinds of salads and big baker potatoes that you stuff with veggies and melted cheese! It’s always a favorite here at camp!

The weekly Sunday Barbeque topped of the evening with our own ice cream social following! A weekly tradition prior to watching the counselors compete in Red Coral and Chartreuse. It’s their own team system like the campers version of Red and White and Mari-Meta League. After that it’s time for the Weekly Movie and during that time the counselors have meetings in age groups and individual cabin groups to check up and communicate! It’s the best time to do that, as line group watches the campers in the movie! A spectacular day, a Sunday we dream of having!

We woke up to Lazy Breakfast, sleeping in for those who so desire. Individual play time and cartoons in the main lodge while everyone enjoys lazy morning on Sundays! Then Laundry, brunch and then the afternoon was divided into 3 activities. Cabins then choose their top three and spend the day together. Sailing, pontoon rides, tubing, skiing, volleyball, newcomb, tennis, swimming and even lots of hiking. Some hike our neighborhood and our senior cabin went hiking in the Nicolet National Forest, by Anvil Lake. A fabulous day trip indeed!

Well Thank God its Friday! I guess that’s what everyone says! I say… wow it’s Friday already! Time Flies when you’re having fun! It’s already Friday and what a great day it is! Dearest Parents and Friends of Marimeta,

Another fabulous rainy day at Marimeta! More cold than rainy! That never stops the fun! Today we had another round of fabulous meals… starting with French Toast.. Hmmm soooo good!

It came out piping hot with lots of powdered sugar! Lunch was alberts home made amazing chicken tenders! Like chicken fingers.. but homemade with the best crusty coating! Lines out of the kitchen for more hot ones! Hmmmm good! Dinner was Beef Stir fry! Like eating out a great Mongolian restaurant! Thank god the good weather is coming.. so we can be more active outside and burn off these calories!

The day started out with cabin clean up… followed by everyone coming into the rec hall for a laughing contest. Called Lodgies Last Laugh! Each of the lodgies were on the stage keeping a straight face.. as campers came up in cabin groups and different lodgies were assigned a dollar value! Whomever could make the individuals laugh, were given the dollar amount toward their grand prize. Everyone thought that this activity was one that should be done each session… because it was funny , fun and actually a RIOT!

This was followed by Marimeta’s version of Project Runway! All of our campers became famous clothing designers and each cabin had a staff model. They were made up, dressed up and took the runway with style! We may not have been active on the playing fields or lake today… but we have some wonderful fashion conscious young ladies with great careers ahead of them in Fashion Design!

The afternoon brought a great rest hour (everyone loves a long rest hour when it’s cold and rainy) followed by EVERYONES FAVORITE…. THE CAMP MARIMETA BIG CHALLENGE!
In the big challenge groups are to perform different challenges from who can blow a bubble gum bubble the biggest, to naming all the counselors, chugging a glass of milk the fastest, impersonating the people in the lodge! All of these and more will be on the highlight video at the end of the summer!
The Big Challenge lasted so long, we had to take a break and have a quick cabin sing practice before dinner… and do the second half of the Big Challenge after dinner!

Kissing our big and little sisters goodnight and the first night of Evening Treats was received very well… after everyone was in their pajama’s, two representatives from each cabin came back to the lodge to get evening treats for their cabins!

So much more in store for tomorrow… including a sunny day of outside activities!
