When the trips are away…… June 27, 2019 While the Pioneers are enjoying their trips away to the Wisconsin Dells, Mackinac Island and sailing on Superior Lake, the Dudes and Ranchers are having a blast back at camp! First off, on Tuesday, we spent the day doing Al Lewis. This is when the campers get to pick their own schedule every period. We have different events then just regular activites. We all had so much fun going out on the Pontoon, swimming and going on the water trampoline. In addition, many of the campers went skiing or paddled around on our new paddle boats. The evening activity was the Gunk Game. This is a trivia game where if we answer a question right gunk is poured onto counselor’s heads! There was green pudding, ketchup, flour and it was hilarious. Bond Fall, Michigan Next, on Wednesday morning we woke up and continued with Al Lewis, it was a beautiful morning and the weather was great! Right after lunch, we all went on a field trip to Bond Falls in Michigan! We went on a short hike and saw the falls. They were spectacular. After our hike, we made our way to a beach nearby and spent the rest of the afternoon playing in the water! In fact, we had a splashing good time! Finally, our evening activity on Wednesday night was Mission Impossible, a new game the CIA’s created. The game was a scavenger hunt around camp. Ordinarily we would have done this game in cabin groups. However, we played Mission Impossible in our Battle of the Atlantic teams. In brief, this activity involved solving clues that led us to different locations. It was so gratifying to figure out all of the riddles. The CIAs did a great job! To round out our time without the pioneers, we play The Ring of Fire. It is kind of like a obstacle relay race. Tonight, all of the Pioneers get back! To sum up, we had an amazing time while the pioneers were away on trips. Above all, we are so excited to welcome them back!
